Public Parks and Rec Basics

According to the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority website, the organization has the following mission:

“In partnership with our community, Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority strives to provide comprehensive park and recreation programs, accessible facilities, and services which respond to changing needs within our communities. We strive to preserve, enhance, and protect our open spaces to enrich the quality of life for present and future generations in a safe and secure environment.”

This website is part of the community effort to engage that partnership and to encourage our elected officials to maintain and support that partnership through effective communication and productive cooperation.

BVRA public parks include the St Mary St Park, the Lewisburg Area Pool, the Rivers’ Edge Skate Park, and the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail.  It also runs the BVRA Gymnastics Center which houses the Energy Gymnastics Program.  It runs year round recreational activities for all ages including one-off events or short classes like Cupcake Wars and long term offerings like BVRA Summer Camp and the Nature’s Cool preschool program.
